British Lord Want Qur’an Banned

Britain's Lord Christopher Monckton urged a ban on the Noble Qur'an.
LONDON – Britain's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former adviser to the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, has urged the US Congress to ban passages of the Muslims’ holy book, the Qur’an, and to make reading them aloud illegal.
“Nearly all acts of terrorism perpetrated throughout the world in the past quarter of a century were carried out by Muslims in the name of Allah,” Brenchley falsely claimed in his latest column for website World Net Daily, Raw Story website reported.
“One does not need to look any further than their “holy” book, the [Qur'an].
“Craven public authorities have failed to act against the circulation of the [Qur'an] in its present form because they fear a violent backlash,” he added.
According to Raw Story, Monckton also urged the banning of portions of the Qur'an that he wrongly interprets to be a call for violence against nonbelievers, saying the rights of free speech are ‘outweighed by the need to stop incitement’.
“A bill should be brought before Congress identifying all passages in the [Qur'an] which, whether in isolation or taken together, constitute incitement to murder,” he proposed.
He went on the say: “The bill should specify that anyone who reads any of these passages out loud is to be charged with that crime and, if convicted, subjected to the usual penalty for it –- a long prison term.”
The Qur’an is a revelation from God, the creator of the worlds, so He is the original author.
There is only one Qur’an which is in Arabic and many translations of the Qur’an in several languages.
There could be multiple translations by different authors in the same language such as English.
The Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the archangel Gabriel who used to make the Prophet memorize the Qur’an and made him revise it every year in the month of Ramadan, the fasting month.
Unfortunately, some people wrongly accuse Islam of teaching violence based on an improper understanding of a few verses of the Quran that were actually addressed to a specific group of people, with a specific historical background.

Entire Football Team Finds Islam in Dubai

Coming to Dubai for training camp, the entire team was impressed by the peace and serenity they felt in Islam.
CAIRO – Heading to the rich gulf emirate for a two-month training camp, none of the twenty-three young Cameroonian footballers imagined that their journey to Dubai would end surprisingly into making all of them revert to Islam.
“It is amazing that at an age when most people just want to play and have fun, these young men were searching for faith and enlightenment,” Javeed Khateeb, senior religious adviser at IACAD, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, told The National newspaper.
“This is the first time we’ve had such a large number of people from the same group wanting to convert.
“We do get large groups of converts but usually they come from different backgrounds,” he added.
The team from the West African country represents a football academy for the homeless, orphans and impoverished youth.
Coming to Dubai for training camp, the entire team was impressed by the peace and serenity they felt in Islam.
Moreover, they have also praised the kindness they received from Muslim players they trained with.
“They were very impressed with the way Muslims behaved, but mostly they were impressed by the kindness and respect they received,” Khateeb said
“These are poor young men and they were embraced like brothers.”
Having expressed their interest in Islam to their hosts, the squad, its coach and female priest were all taken to IACAD to learn more about Islam last Thursday, and returned home last Saturday.
“We spent two separate sessions, which were about a full day each, talking about Islam and answering all their questions and alleviating any doubts,” Khateeb said.
“We wanted to make sure they had proper understanding of Islam. Many of their questions were about halal and haram, consuming alcohol, and how the prophet Jesus is portrayed in Islam.”
“Two of them did not wish to convert, but they wanted to learn more about Islam and the culture before deciding what to do,” he added.
Spreading Message
The Cameroonian squad was the latest group of visitors to IACAD who choose to revert to Islam at the center.
“The department has witnessed a lot of conversion cases of visitors and residents from different nationalities and most of them attribute their conversion to the tolerance and humane values and principles of Islam and the kindness they had from Muslims,” said Dr Hamad Al Shaibani, director general of IACAD.
The department organizes programs and events for non-Muslims and new Muslims to introduce the authentic, moderate message of Islam as a religion for all.
These take place in schools, shopping centers and cultural clubs.
Along with IACAD, Islamic Information Centre of the Dubai government-run Dar Al Ber Society has witnessed a record of reversions to Islam over the past years.
Established more than 20 years ago, Dar Al Ber Society centre has witnessed the reversion of 20,000 from 200 different nationalities to Islam.
According to Dar Al Ber Society, about 2,115 people reverted to Islam in 2013.
The number, compared to about 1,907 in 2012, showed an increase by about 10%, according to Aljunaibi.
The number was much less in 2011 as only 1,380 were reportedly converted to Islam, while 1,500 joined Islam in 2010 and about 1,059 in 2009.

Muslims Protest Arizona Islamophobic Trainer

Known as conspiracy theorist, Guandolo claims that the director of the Central Intelligence Agency is a secret Muslim agent
CAIRO – America’s Department of Justice has been urged to cancel a training session for prosecutors and law enforcement personnel featuring anti-Islam conspiracy theorist John Guandolo who claims that CIA director is a “secret Muslim”.
"Any prosecutor or police officer whose view of the world has been colored by John Guandolo's Islamophobia and conspiracy theories would inevitably view every Arizona Muslim with suspicion," Ibrahim Hooper National Communications Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), said in a statement obtained by OnIslam.net.
"The Department of Justice should intervene to prevent the civil rights of Arizona Muslims from being negatively impacted in the courts and in interactions with law enforcement."
Hooper’s calls to the DOJ was echoed in a request by CAIR, America’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, to cancel a training planned later this week in Arizona.
Offered by Guandolo, a session titled “Understanding the Threat” is sponsored by Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, on September 19 in Tempe, Arizona.
Demanding protection of Arizona Muslims civil rights, CAIR said Guandolo's conspiracy theories, including claims that respected Arizona Muslim leaders are members of the Muslim Brotherhood and that the current CIA director is a Muslim "agent," will prevent local Muslims who come in contact with the justice system from being treated fairly.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), an organization that tracks hate groups in America, describes Guandolo as "a disreputable character, who regularly attacks the US government.
Known as conspiracy theorist, Guandolo claims that the director of the Central Intelligence Agency is a secret Muslim agent for the Saudi government and says that American Muslims 'do not have a First Amendment right to do anything.'"
In February of this year, Virginia's Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy rescinded its earlier approval of in-service training credits for state law enforcement scheduled to attend a training Guandolo was conducting in Culpeper, Va., after being made aware of his anti-Islam rhetoric.
In May, a sheriff in Kansas decided not to partner with a citizens group sponsoring a Guandolo training after being informed of his conspiracy theories. When a journalist at Kansas' Wichita Eagle covered the controversy, Guandolo accused the reporter of material support of terrorism.
Anti-Muslim Extremism
CAIR's request to the DOJ comes as Attorney General Eric Holder announced on Monday a strategy designed to disrupt Americans from joining terrorist groups.
"Anti-Muslim extremism is never the answer to legitimate concerns about those who might adopt extremist religious views," said Hooper.
Imraan Siddiqi, president of CAIR's Arizona chapter, echoed similar concerns.
"Sadly, this continues a disturbing trend by Maricopa County of promoting discriminatory practices, such as the racial profiling of Latinos, which was deemed unconstitutional," Siddiqi said.
"We have already seen an upswing in cases of religious questioning at the border, which could certainly be a result of biased law enforcement trainings such as this."
In August, CAIR joined a coalition of 75 groups urging the Obama administration to take "immediate action to end the use of anti-Muslim training materials and address anti-Muslim conduct exhibited by agencies throughout the federal government."
Although there are no official figures, the United States is believed to be home to between 6-8 million Muslims.
Anti-Muslim training materials for army, police and government officials have been a major concern for Muslims in the US.
In 2012, the New York police used a video screening accusing Muslims of launching a holy war on the West as a training material for its officers.
The film, “The Third Jihad: Radical Islam’s Vision for America”, says "the true agenda of much of Muslim leadership here in America" is to "infiltrate and dominate America."
It claims that there were three jihads: One at the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him), a second in the Middle Ages and a third that is underway covertly in the West today.
In July 2011, the FBI used training materials that claim Islam “transforms [a] country’s culture into 7th-century Arabian ways”.
Earlier in 2011, CAIR and the University of California released a report titled “Same Hate, New Target: Islamophobia and Its Impact in the United States 2009-2010,” which warned of growing Islamophobia in the US since President Barack Obama was elected.
Last September, Danger Room cited an FBI training material which described Muslims as "terrorist sympathizers", who turn into violent people once they become pious.
It also described Islam as an indicator of terrorist activity and that the Muslim practice of giving charity as no more than a “funding mechanism for combat.”
Earlier this February 2012, the FBI purged hundreds of documents offensive to Muslims and their faith, describing those document as "offensive" while others were "inaccurate" and "overbroad".
The White House also ordered a government-wide review of counterterrorism training late last year.

Mosques Closures Alarm Kenya Muslims

Faith leaders have warned that the new measures threatened further restrictions on Muslim freedoms under the guise of fighting terrorism.
NAIROBI – Kenya faith leaders have expressed anger over the recent threats by the director of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to close mosque suspected of offering “radical teachings”, seeing the threat as a pretext to attack, redefine and profile Islam and Muslim.
“It is like shutting down Mombasa port because it is frequented by drug traffickers or blowing up a house because it had a terrorist tenant. The Government needs to target individuals involved in the suspected crime, not the mosque,” Senator Billow Kerrow (Mandera) told Standard Digital on Tuesday, September 16.
“Targeting mosques confirms suspicions by Muslims that Government often targets the faith.
“If there is a Muslim leader suspected of recruiting for Al-Shabaab, go for him and not the facility because if you shut it down they will go to another one,” he added.
Kerrow was reacting to the threats made by CID director Ndegwa Muhoro to close mosques he claimed were preaching extremism and promoting Al-Shabaab ideologies.
The CID boss asserted that authorities have recently shut a mosque in Machakos after claims it was recruiting youth to Al-Shabaab.
Muslim concerns further aggravated on Monday after Mombasa County Police Commander Robert Kitur, who commanded the raid on Musa mosque, said police have placed several mosques “across Coast region under surveillance” over radical activity.
“We are not targeting just mosques. There are also non-governmental organizations we are monitoring,” Kitur said.
Kenya Muslims have been sensing eradication of their rights after their country was involved in the so-called war on terrorism in East Africa.
Supported by UK and US, Kenya's anti-terror police have been accused of targeting innocent Muslims with arbitrary arrests and disappearances.
Muslims problems increased following last September Westgate mall attack in which more than 60 people were killed, the attack which was claimed by Somalia's militant al Shabaab group.
Freedom
Faith leaders have warned that the new measures threatened further restrictions on Muslim freedoms under the guise of fighting terrorism.
“It is very sad for a senior security official of Muhoro’s caliber to issue blanket threats against houses of worship in the name of fighting terrorism. If there are specific people who are committing criminal acts, they should be dealt with in line with the law,” Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims Deputy Secretary General Hassan ole Naado.
Catholic priest Father Gabriel Dolan warned the Government against such a policy, saying it will amount to collective punishment.
He said Muhoro’s threats were issued on the day “when extra-judicial killing of Muslims appears to have resumed” warning that the CID director’s proposal “will be interpreted by Muslims that they are being targeted” because the Government should pursue individuals it believes are promoting hate.
“Mombasa was beginning to settle down but the resumption of extra-judicial killing of young Muslims and the Director’s threat will inflame the situation one year into the first anniversary of the Westgate Shopping Mall terrorist attack,” said Dolan.
Supreme Council for Kenya Muslim (Supkem) Coast branch chairman Sheikh Muhdhar Khitamy demanded a solid proof on terrorism links before closing any mosques.
“Qur’an and hadith is used to regulate teachings and if at all there are issues raised, the mosque committee should be called upon,” he said.
“The Government ought to provide real proof and not go by mere suspicions to order for closure of a mosque.”
A Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya official in Kwale Sheikh Amir Banda said any shutdown of a mosque will be considered an attack on Islam.
National Muslim Leaders Forum Chairman Abdullahi Abdi termed Muhoro’s statement as “offensive” to the Muslim community and urged him to withdraw and apologize.
Hussein Khalid, executive director of Haki Africa, a civil society group based in Mombasa, termed the CID director’s remarks as shocking.
“We are utterly perturbed by the threats coming from the Government to close up mosques,” Khalid said.
“Not only is this threat unconstitutional and a direct violation of the freedom of religion guaranteed in Article 32 of the Constitution, but also meant to cause unnecessary tension and concern in what is already a volatile situation.”

China Raids Uighur Muslims’ Qur’an Schools

The crackdown on Urumqi madrasas is not the first this year.
BEIJING – In a new sweep to obliterate the religious identity in the far-western Muslim majority Xinjiang, Chinese authorities have raided several Islamic schools in the district’s capital Urumqi, arresting dozens of Muslims.
"China thinks that Uighurs who uphold their faith and use the internet are a challenge to China's rule," Dilxat Raxit, spokesman for the exiled World Uyghur Congress, told Reuters on Monday, September 15.
"China's hostility will probably mean even more Uighurs lose their freedom," Raxit added, echoing fears of Uighur Muslims amid stifling policies.
More the 85 people were arrested on latest crackdown on Muslim Uighur madrassahs, a crackdown that "rescued" 190 children, according to the official Legal Daily.
The crackdown on Urumqi madrasas is not the first this year. In August, China claimed that it has "rescued" 82 children from Islamic schools.
Raiding Urumqi madrasas came as part of Chinese government’s campaign against unsanctioned religious publicity materials, activities and teachings.
Xinjiang has been autonomous since 1955 but continues to be the subject of massive security crackdowns by Chinese authorities
Rights groups accuse Chinese authorities of religious repression against Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang in the name of counter terrorism.
Rights groups say restrictions on Uighurs’ religious and cultural freedoms have stoked tensions.
In August, Chinese authorities issued a decree banning Muslims wearing beards, Islamic clothing, hijab or niqab from using public buses in Xinjiang city of Karamay.
Earlier in July, China banned students and government staff from observing Ramadan fasting, as officials tried to encourage locals in Xinjiang not to wear Islamic veils.
No Religious Classes
With Chinese authorities imposing a ban on Madrassahs, or religious schools, Muslims have been seeking underground schools to offer their kids a religious education.
“Only in the politics class will there be a few chapters introducing the main religions in the world, which includes Islam. Apart from that, there’s no class on religion [in Xinjiang],” Xiaofeng Chen, a Beijing-based spokesman for Save the Children, which runs education programs in Xinjiang, told UCA.
The latest crackdown on Xinjiang madrassahs was condemned by Uighur Muslims who accused China of stifling their religious practices.
“People, especially women and young people who are not allowed to mosques due to tradition and by the government have the need to learn religious knowledge; otherwise, the religious population is getting older and disappearing gradually,” one Muslim man in Urumqi, who also declined to be identified, said.
Many Muslims have warned that the ban on Islamic education was fostering radicalized teachings in the autonomous region of Xinjiang.
“The discrimination and lack of normal religious education has helped greatly in spreading radical thought among young people, including many of my friends,” a Muslim man in his early 30s in Urumqi said.
Since 2001, China has conducted a sweeping security crackdown in Xinjiang, further repressing Uighur culture, religious tradition and language.
Analysts say the policy of transferring Han Chinese to Xinjiang to consolidate Beijing's authority has increased the proportion of Han in the region from five percent in the 1940s to more than 40 percent now.
Beijing views the vast region of Xinjiang as an invaluable asset because of its crucial strategic location near Central Asia and its large oil and gas reserves.

Ildar Hazrat Alyautdinov
Source : islam.ru / 19 Sep 2014
"Muslims living in Moscow will not perform the rite of sacrifice on the day of Eid al-Adha within the city boundary" said Mufti of Moscow, the chief imam of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque Ildar Hazrat Alyautdinov in an interview with a correspondent of the Islam.ru news agency.
"If such happens, it will be clearly someone planned provocation to denigrate two million population of the capital of Russia", - said the theologian. Ildar Hazrat Alyautdinov also said thatRussia's Muslims are very civilized and cultured, they respect the laws and practices of other religions.
Ildar Hazrat said that there haven’t organized special places to carry out the ritual of sacrifice in the city of Moscow. This is the decision of the Moscow authorities. But in the suburbs there are many places where muslims will be able to conduct this ritual. It is basically private farms, where all the conditions for the slaughtering of animals have been created. Moscow Muslims and muslims who live in the region, as well as muslims from other places will get an opportunity to perform all the prescribed rituals of Eid al-Adha with ease thanks to these private farms.
